Luis R. Nieves, Psy.D., ABPP - Executive Director
When Dr. Nieves was appointed Executive Director of New Horizon Treatment Services, Inc., in 2001, he brought to this position 20 years of Addiction and Psychological Treatment Counseling. He had served as Associate Professor and Dean of Student Affairs for Rutgers University Program, Director for Educational Testing Service, Executive Director of Therapeutic Alternatives, Inc. (Adolescent Treatment Program), Executive Director of Princeton Organizational Consulting, Inc. (Management Consulting of Private Industry), and Executive Director of Contemporary Psychology Institute.
This diverse application of Psychological Principles to the problems of Human Development supported by both an advanced business education (MBA) and advanced Psychological Training (Psy.D.) has been recognized by the American Board of Professional Psychology by awarding him a Diplomat in Clinical Psychology, as well as a Fellow of the Academy of Clinical Psychology.
Michael Hanlon, MEd., LPC, LCADC - Director of Clinical Services
Michael Hanlon became the Clinical Director at NHTS in October of 2006. He came to the agency with over 35 years of experience in the field of substance abuse treatment, as a counselor, clinical director and executive director. He was the Deputy Director at the Division of Addiction Services. He is now working directly with clients and staff. Mr Hanlon has previously worked at both methadone and drug-free outpatient programs as well as operating a transitional housing program for women and children. He has experience treating children, adolescents, and adults. His wealth of knowledge and experience gives New Horizons hope in achieving our goal of becoming the premier treatment program in the State of New Jersey. He welcomes all clients, their families, and community members to contact him with their ideas in helping us to attain this objective.
Diane Gianacaci, RN, MSN - Director of Nursing
Diane Gianacaci is a registered nurse for 35 years. She attended nursing school at Mercer Medical Center in Trenton, NJ to become a registered nurse. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Eastern College in St. Davids, PA. She received a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialty in Public Health Nursing at La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA. Her work experience includes staff and managerial positions in Acute Care Hospital Settings, Community Outreach, Corrections, Home Care and Nursing Education.
Erik Viereck - Director of Administrative Services
Eric E. Viereck, Director of Administrative Services, is responsible for three main areas within the New Horizon Treatment Services' scope of functioning; Human Resources Management, Facilities Management, and Front Office / Billing Operations Management. His diversified experience ranges from being a General Manager for a 40 million dollar a year fuel, retail, and food operation to a Senior Manager and Personnel Manager in a wholesale industry, and furthermore to an Assistant Director of Human Resources for a metals manufacturer and part owner of a construction business.
Mr. Viereck's career began, after graduating from Arizona State University in 1986, as an Assistant Director of Human Resources. He continued in his upward career climb and gained versatile and in-depth experience in all areas of operations, budgeting & financial analyses, human resource management, training and development, benefits and payroll administration, employee relations, policy development, facility management, vendor contract management, building maintenance, and professional customer service.
With this wide range of background in various industries, Eric is able to understand the current and future needs of the New Horizons Treatment Services facility, manages our 50 employee non profit organization effectively from a human resource perspective, and has raised the standard of customer service to its highest level in many years; as well as, improved all aspects of our billing process.
Mr. Viereck has a sense of fairness that provides comfort and safety to staff and patients; whether he is resolving billing issues, staff questions and concerns, and / or working with contractors.
