Luis R. Nieves, Psy.D., ABPP – Executive Director
When Dr. Nieves was appointed Executive Director of New Horizon Treatment Services, Inc., in 2001, he brought to this position 20 years of Addiction and Psychological Treatment Counseling. He had served as Associate Professor and Dean of Student Affairs for Rutgers University Program, Director for Educational Testing Service, Executive Director of Therapeutic Alternatives, Inc. (Adolescent Treatment Program), Executive Director of Princeton Organizational Consulting, Inc. (Management Consulting of Private Industry), and Executive Director of Contemporary Psychology Institute.
This diverse application of Psychological Principles to the problems of Human Development supported by both an advanced business education (MBA) and advanced Psychological Training (Psy.D.) has been recognized by the American Board of Professional Psychology by awarding him a Diplomat in Clinical Psychology, as well as a Fellow of the Academy of Clinical Psychology.
Kathleen Lee, MA, LPC, LCADC, ACS, CCS – Deputy Executive Director of Programs
Kathleen Lee began working with the New Horizon Treatment Services team in 2008. Her experience in addiction and mental health as well as academic degrees in the field of mental health quickly encouraged her to be promoted from counselor to the Deputy Executive Director of Programs at New Horizon Treatment Services. Kathleen Lee graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2004 from Rutgers University. She then obtained her master’s degree in community counseling from Rider University in 2008. Kathleen started at New Horizon Treatment Services as a student intern and continued to work at New Horizon as a counselor and later a coordinator and then a director. Kathleen successfully created and ran the group program in the Special Services department at New Horizon Treatment Services and received an award for that accomplishment. Kathleen is well respected in her role as a clinician and Deputy Executive Director of Programs at New Horizon. Her expert understanding of issues relating to mental health and addiction paired with her innate ability to conceptualize and respond to challenges continue to make her a strong leader at New Horizon Treatment Services.
