Job Announcement: Billing Specialist

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) or higher, plus medical and billing course of study
• One year accounting/administrative/billing/record keeping experience;
• Excellent knowledge of medical billing, ICD-9 and CPT coding
• Computer and data entry skills with knowledge of billing using CMS-1500 claim forms
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills:
• Attention to details
• Highly organized
• Excellent leadership qualities
• Knowledge of 3rd party billing

Job Duties/Responsiblities

• Manage agency's accounts receivable posting
• Tracking all sorts of billing and monitoring all collections and payments in order to keep things running smoothly.
• Maintaining all information pertaining to the patients that would include service dates with contract and/or insurance coverage verification
• Develop, implement and oversee billing and coding policies and procedures
• Conduct ongoing evaluation of billing and coding policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and ensure compliance with regulatory and contract requirements
• Maintain contacts with medical records and other departments to obtain and analyze additional patient information for documenting and processing billing
• Ensure reviews are in accordance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and other third party payers, reimbursement and coding regulations
• Utilize appropriate billing document to create a charge assigns appropriate financial class to each invoice
• Work directly will insurance companies to get claim processed and paid
• Reviewing and appealing unpaid and denied claims
